Niobium Tube / Niobium Pipe Production Technology

The technological process for niobium tube extrusion production: preparation, power frequency induction heating (600 + 10 Dc), glass powder lubrication, secondary power frequency induction heating (1150 + 10 Dc), reaming (reduction of area is less than 20.0%), third power frequency induction heating (1200 + 10 Dc), small deformation, extrusion(extrusion ratio is not more than 10, and reduction of area is less than 90%) , air cooling, and finally finished the hot extrusion process of niobium tube. The niobium seamless tube produced by this method ensures sufficient thermal process plasticity. The disadvantage of niobium fluidity is avoided by means of small deformation extrusion. Performance and dimensions meet user requirements.

Application

Niobium tube / pipe is used in industrial, electric light source, heating and heat shield electric vacuum equipment. High purity niobium tube has higher requirements for purity and uniformity, it can be used as the cavity material of the superconducting linear collider. The biggest demand for niobium tube and pipe is for steel enterprises, and the materials are mainly used in acid washing and immersion tank, jet pump and its system pipe fittings.
